Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect at the ceremony?

The wedding nuptials will take place at a Catholic Church in downtown El Paso. The length of the ceremony is an hour and fifteen minutes. It should conclude around 3:15 PM.
In addition, the nuptials will be in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Catholic Rite otherwise known as Traditional Latin Mass. Please visit our Latin Mass Wedding page if you wish to know more about the ceremony.

What is parking going to be like?

There is not a parking lot for the church; however, there are two options for parking. Metered parking on Campbell Street and Myrtle Avenue or free parking in the Social Security Administration lot located off Florence Street and Myrtle Avenue.

What should I wear?

The dress code is formal attire. Guys, a suit and tie can be worn or a dress shirt and slacks if you wish to be more comfortable. Ladies, although an evening gown would definitely still be suitable, you can also opt for a mid-length gown, dressy top and skirt, or even an elegant jumpsuit.
We kindly ask that you keep modesty of attire in mind, especially during the nuptial mass. Out of reverence for the sacrament, women's shoulders ought to be covered and short dresses or low cuts avoided. A shawl or sweater may be worn during the ceremony if your attire exposes your shoulders.
Female parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church retain the tradition of veiling their head out of respect for Christ, present on the altar. For visitors, veiling is optional. If you wish to veil there are some available at the entrance of the church.

Can I bring others with me, including children?

The nuptial mass is the main event of the day and we encourage all members of extended family and friends, including children to join us for this incredible moment. RSVP's not necessary for the ceremony, just come by.
Unfortunately, our reception venue is not a suitable size for everyone. We kindly ask attendees be limited to the number of people listed on the reception section of the RSVP form.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

At the reception, we are planning to serve a variety of foods with our main dish containing chicken and dairy. If you have any restrictions, please let us know. We will be sure to make our catering company aware for accommodations.
